Our History
|
Geosegment Systems was founded in 1991 in Cambridge, Massachusetts as a provider of mortgage market share data from County Registry of Deed data. In the age before the internet, CD-ROMs, DVDs, flash drives, and other high capacity transmission methods, we received data via the 9-track magnetic tape format first invented by IBM.
Our initial strategic partner was Banker and Tradesman, predecessor of regional data collector The Warren Group. Within a few years, nearly every major lender in New England subscribed to our GeoMortgage Analyst™ market share data service, with monthly data deliveries on 3.5 inch diskettes. In 1992, we become one of the first companies to use Home Mortgage Disclosure Act Data (HMDA) for market share analysis purposes. By the mid-199o's, six out of the top ten lenders in the U.S. used our HMDAPro™ product. In 2001, we released MorStatMI™, a sales force targeting tool for mortgage insurance companies. |
